For as long as I can remember - I've been curious. My questions started out trivial: why do trees grow up? What makes the seasons change? How does this work? What do bugs eat? Do I have to eat my brussel sprouts?
The older I became, the more complicated my questions got. What makes someone tick? Why do the days go slow, but the years go fast? Why must I grow up? What gives me purpose? Is heaven real? While I may never know the answers to all my questions, I'd like to think that I can answer one: in a world where you can be cruel, why not be kind? Because you can.
When I was a child, I was a quiet, melanchdolic. As my voice grew with me, I was drawn to learning how others lived - what they had seen, experiences they had been through, and the perspectives they carried. Listening quickly became more important than talking (although I do enjoy talking). Since then, my fondness for people has only deepened with each experience.
In a world more divided than ever - real, authentic, human connection has become invaluable. That is what art does - it awakens the human heart. Design compliments this - improving human connection, providing clarity and organization, and creating accessibility in a chaotic world. This belief is at the core of how and why I create.
When I’m not creating, you’ll find me in the great outdoors, thrifting, traveling, watching films, or spending time with those I love. I believe everyone should embrace their inner whimsy!
Other fun jobs I've had: summer produce stand worker, painting instructor, resident assistant, greenhouse keeper, design camp teacher, etc.
